October brings pumpkins, scarecrows and Halloween, and folks certainly got in the spirit of the season by decorating pumpkins, enjoying a visit from staff member Ciara’s black kitten, and putting together treat bags for trick-or-treaters. But they also learned about the Indian Festival of Lights called Diwali, which occurs on October 24. This festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil, and folks colored mandalas to commemorate the day, geometric symbols used in many Eastern religions. The month ended with a great Halloween party with snacks, wine, music, costumes and some amazing decorations. A big thank you to the kiddos from SSM Health Tommy Bartlett Child Care Center for coming to trick-or-treat. Their visits always bring lots of smiles!
