January can have some dreary weather, but there were lots of engaging activities that made for busy and joyful days. Some of the folks tried their hand at bowling and discovered it was not only fun, but they were pretty good at it! There were some special birthday celebrations and a performance by “South Texas”. We were honored to have local author, Mary Behan, pay a visit and read some of her new book, “Abbey Girls”, to our book club. It was so interesting to learn more about her and her writing. Our Creative Cooking group made sweet and savory snacks and enjoyed tasting their creations. Folks have also been hard at work making three beautiful entries for the winter-themed diorama contest hosted by the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library. Stop by the library and vote for your favorite! We so appreciate our volunteers who share their time and talents, and we’re always looking for others to join our Meadow Ridge family.
